I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend!
If you follow me on social media, or are familiar with some of my other blog posts you may have seen me traveling around a fair bit recently. My travels are mostly in order to visit vegan events.
It seems like every other weekend I seem to find myself at a new vegan restaurant or fair recently. This weekend’s vegan trip included traveling over to Manchester to visit the Northern Vegan Festival. This was my second time visiting this vegan event.
In the fashion of most of the vegan festivals out there the event was an opportunity for vegan businesses and charities to hold stalls. There where regular talks throughout the day.
No visit to Manchester is complete without a visit to the Northern Quarter of the city. The Northern Quarter is a vibrant area with a number of quirky, independent shops. I always enjoy walking round Affleck’s Arcade a 3-floored wonderland of wacky and wonderful shops.
The Northern Quarter of the city is home to V Rev. Set out like an American style fast food joint, with a menu to suite, V Rev’s is proudly 100% vegan. With a menu that lists a number of unconventionally titled dishes such as Return of the Mac, Buffalo the Vampire Slayer, Paint It Guac and Pizza Fries it is clear why the restaurant has become the place to go for vegans visiting Manchester. With such a buzz around the V Rev diner I was not surprised to have to wait for a table on the day on vegan festival.
Here’s a few pictures that will make your mouth water of what we ate on the day. Young Money Chillionaire is a hot dog topped with chili and cheese sauce. We couldn’t help but order the Pizza Fries. Fries topped with pizza sauce, cheese and vegan pepperoni.
I can’t wait to visit Manchester again soon!
